ORLANDO, Fla. (March 14, 2024) – The Pirates' teams were defeated by Marquette on Thursday in Orlando, Fla. at the USTA National Tennis Center. The women's match ended 4-3 and the men's 5-2.
This was the last match for both teams in Florida. The Lady Pirates finished 2-2 and the men 1-3.
Women
Mio Kozaki and
Diana Starodubtseva beat Andie Weise and Lara Kaiser by a score of 6-3. As a duo pair they move to 4-3 as a team.
Meiri Okuwaki and
Sofia Sokolova lost their first match together by falling to Emma Davis and Tiana Windbuchler 6-3.
Kozaki leads the team with a singles record of 7-3 after defeating Emilija Kojcic in a tight three-set thriller, 3-6, 7-6, 1-0 (15-13). Starodubtseva and Okuwaki each won their matches to move to six wins on the season.

Men
Donte Armbrister and
Aryan Arora won their doubles match against Teddy Wong and Ivan Vazquez 6-4. They are 2-6 as a pair but have gone 2-2 in their last four.
Both Arora and Armbrister won their sixth singles match of 2024. Armbrister took down Jan Jauch in two sets 6-2 and 7-6 (7-5). In three sets, Arora battled to grab a win over Nathan Balthazor (6-2, 1-6, 6-1).
