HAMPTON, Va. (May 24, 2024) … Hampton quarterback Chris Zellous has been invited to serve as a counselor at the Manning Passing Academy. The Academy, which attracts the best football players in the nation, is scheduled for June 27-30 at Nicholls State in Thibodaux, La.
 

For 27 years, Archie, Cooper, Peyton, and Eli Manning have developed some of the best quarterback, running back, tight end, and wide receiver talent in the nation. The Academy teaches the fundamentals of the game along with basic offensive and defensive strategies.
 

The Mannings bring together some of the brightest and most talented coaches and players from the professional, college and high school ranks to teach the complexities of the game.
 

Zellous had a breakout season in 2023 for the Pirates. Named the MVP of the Brick City Classic, Zellous led Hampton to a 35-31 victory over Grambling State in the 2023 season-opener. Zellous passed for 155 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another 114 yards and two scores. For the season, he passed for 1,497 yards with 13 touchdowns and rushed for 559 yards and nine scores.
 

The Pirates open the 2024 campaign Aug. 31 at 6:00 p.m. when Hampton hosts longtime rival Morgan State at Armstrong Stadium.
