GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 28, 2025) … The Hampton University men's tennis team opened a road weekend with a 6-1 loss to N.C. A&T in a Coastal Athletic Association matchup at the Piedmont Indoor Tennis Center on a warm Friday afternoon.
N.C. A&T (13-3, 1-0) took the doubles point winning at the top two spots. Hampton (3-9, 0-2) did get a win at No. 3 as
Donte Armbrister and
Marko Stoilkovski scored a 7-6 (7-3) decision over Mathioeu Dussaubat and Kaua Santos.
In singles,
Yanozie Amadike finished the match with the lone point for the Pirates as he defeated Ian Pedersen 7-6, 2-6, 1-0 (12-10) at No. 2. The Pirates did have a couple matches go into tiebreakers for sets, but came up short in both.
Hampton now heads to Danville, Virginia to face Averett at 10 a.m. Saturday.
