HAMPTON, Va. (April 3, 2025) … The Hampton University men's tennis team returned to the home courts on Thursday and snapped a three-match losing streak with a 5-2 win over Coppin State.

The visiting Eagles took the doubles point with Yanozie Amadike and Donte Armbrister leading 5-4 at line one when Coppin State clinched the team point.

In singles, the Pirates rebounded winning the first five singles matches losing no more than four games in any of those.  Amadike clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Liam Murtaugh at line two. Armbrister won at line one (6-1, 6-0), Kevin Jorquera at line three (6-3, 6-0), Benedict Badza at line four (6-2, 6-2) and Aryan Arora at line five (6-0, 6-2).

Hampton is back on the home courts of Neilson-Screen Stadium on Saturday at noon to face Howard.
