VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Hampton University senior Ryan Cave was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Lineman of the Week on Monday, as announced by the conference office.
Cave (Beaufort, S.C.) graded out at 92 percent of his assignments as he helped the Pirates (3-2, 2-1 MEAC) amass 461 yards of total offense in Saturday's 37-0 shutout win over Howard. He also recorded five pancake blocks, helping running back
LaMarcus Coker (Nashville, Tenn.) rush 21 times for 125 yards and two touchdowns.
It was Coker's fourth 100-yard game of the season.
South Carolina State's Malcolm Long was named MEAC Player of the Week, while teammate Philip Adams was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week. Kory Kowalski of Bethune-Cookman was named MEAC Rookie of the Week, and South Carolina State's Blake Erickson was named MEAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
