HARTFORD, Conn. – The Hampton University women's golf team finished in a tie for third with Fairleigh Dickinson with a 646 (321-325) at the Hartford Women's Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday at the Rockledge Golf Club.

Kayla Williams (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) finished in a tie for fifth to lead the Lady Pirates, shooting a 12-over 156 (77-79). Her first-round 77 was the team low, and Williams was the only Lady Pirate to break 80.

Sydnee Mack (Las Vegas, Nev.) shot a 20-over 164 (81-83) to finish in a tie for 19th, while Iman Ellis (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) finished tied for 24th after firing a 22-over 166 (85-81). Nicole West (Springdale, Md.) was also tied for 24th with a 166 (84-82).

Dionne West (Springdale, Md.) shot a 79 on Monday before being disqualified.

Rutgers won the team title with a 618 (310-308), while Brittany Weddell of Rutgers shot a 6-over 150 (74-76) to take the individual crown.

The Lady Pirates will return to action on April 23-25, when they head to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the Women in Golf Foundation Tournament.
