HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University men's and women's golf teams, under the direction of head coach
Reggie Mitchell, have released their spring 2011 schedules.
The Pirates and Lady Pirates will open the season on Feb. 24-27, when they head to Daytona Beach, Fla. to compete in the Bethune-Cookman Invitational. After a month off, both teams will head to Scottsboro, Ala. on March 27-29 to compete in the Alabama A&M Invitational.
The Lady Pirates won the Alabama A&M Invitational last season.
Both teams will then compete in the Conference Roundup hosted by Savannah State in savannah, Ga. on April 10-12, before the Pirates head to Littlestown, Pa. on April 22-24 to take part in the Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational – where they finished seventh last season.
The Lady Pirates will be in Atlanta, Ga. on April 21-24 for the Women In Golf Foundation Tournament, which they also won last season.
Both teams will close out the 2010-11 campaign on May 5-8 in Port St. Lucie, Fla., when they compete in the PGA Minority Collegiate Championship. The Pirates finished 12th in that event last season, while the Lady Pirates came in third.
