ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Hampton University sailing team finished 20th in the Truxton Umsted Interconference Regatta, hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy on Saturday and Sunday.
The Pirates finished with 431 total points, spread among four divisions; their best division was Division D, where the Pirates tallied just 76 points, finishing 14th thanks to the efforts of freshman
Giuditta Di Laghi (Albenga, Italy).
Yale won the team title with 127 points.
Saturday saw sunny skies with temperatures in the high 60s, but the light 3-5 knot easterly wind only lasted until the early afternoon. Sunday brought foggy and windless conditions, before a light southeasterly breeze came around `1 p.m.
The Pirates will be back in action on Saturday and Sunday, when they host the MAISA/SAISA Intersectional at Strawberry Banks for the fourth straight year.
