HOLLOWAY, NORMAN EARN MEAC WEEKLY HONORS

NORFOLK, Va. – Hampton University sophomore Trey Holloway and senior Breana Norman each earned weekly honors from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), the conference office announced on Thursday.
 
Holloway was named Men's Track Athlete of the Week, and Norman was named Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the third time this season.
 
Holloway (Chesapeake, Va.) won three event titles at the Hampton University Invitational this past Saturday, taking gold in the 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and 60-meter hurdles. He ran a 7.08 in the 60-meter dash, a 22.25 in the 200-meter dash, and a season-best 7.99 in the 60-meter hurdles.
 
He is currently 37th nationally in the 60-meter hurdles.
 
Norman (Virginia Beach, Va.) won the same three events on the women's side on Saturday, and she reached ECAC qualification in both the 60-meter dash (7.44) and 200-meter dash (25.08). She also ran an 8.54 in the 60-meter hurdles.
 
Her times in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash were season bests.
 
Coppin State's Shane Green was named MEAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week, while Bethune-Cookman's Deidra Jordan earned MEAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors.
 
The Pirates and Lady Pirates will be in Newport News, Va. on Friday and Saturday to compete in the CNU Captain's Invitational.
