GREENVILLE, N.C. (March 29, 2026) … A pair of school records highglighted a solid weekend as the Hampton men's outdoor track and field team ran in the Bill Cason Invitational at East Carolina University. Pirate participants finished in the top five 13 times in the meet and produced seven personal bests.
Delano Lawrence took second in the discus and broke the school record with a toss of 53.31m (174-11). The former record was by Nicholas Edwards in 2019 with a toss of 50.77m (166-7).
Mohammed Al-YaFee broke the school record winning the 1500 meters in 3:52.56. He passed the former mark of 3:53.98 by Emmanuel Too in 2017.
Winning events in the meet included
Marquis White in the long jump with a leap of 7.45m (24-5.5) and
Ethan Moody with a personal best in the 400 hurdles in 51.98.
Hampton will split its team into three meets this coming weekend participating in the Florida Relays, Texas Relays and NSU Invitational.
