LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Hampton University men's golf team opened the 2015-16 season at the Bucknell Men's Fall Invite this past Saturday and Sunday at the par-70 Bucknell Golf Club, coming in ninth place with a two-day score of 658 (335-323).
T.J. O'Neal paced the Pirates over the weekend, firing a 15-over 155 to come in 35th. He went 82-73 for the tournament, and his second-round 73 was not only the team's best round of the weekend, but it also tied his personal-best round.
O'Neal also shot a 73 in his freshman season at the Black College Hall of Fame Invitational.
Kenny Gaither was tied for 41st after shooting a 21-over 161 (82-79); that second-round 79 marked the second time Gaither has shot a round in the 70s in his collegiate career.
Brandon Reed was tied for 43rd after firing a 28-over 168 (84-84), while
Arthur Davis shot a 34-over 174 (87-87) to finish 47th and
Dawson Hobbs was 48th with a 38-over 178 (89-89).
Robert Morris won the tournament with a 574 (289-285). Lafayette College's Patrick Luther won the individual title with a 2-under 138 (68-70).
