SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Hampton University men's golf team finished seventh in the 2016 MEAC Championships, which were held Thursday through Saturday at the Crosswinds Golf Club.
The Pirates finished with a three-day score of 1,001 (336-347-318).
T.J. O'Neal paced the Pirates over the weekend, finishing tied for 20th with a 17-over 233 (74-83-76). He had two of the team's three rounds in the 70s over the weekend, and his first-round 74 was the team's low round of the tournament.
O'Neal has shot in the 70s in 11 of his last 13 rounds.
Kenny Gaither was 28th with a 31-over 247 (84-88-75), while
Brandon Reed was tied for 30th after firing a 41-over 257 (88-86-83).
Dawson Hobbs was 32nd after shooting a 48-over 264 (90-90-84).
Augusta University won the team championship with an 834 (284-280-270). Augusta took five of the top six spots on the individual leaderboard, led by individual champion Robin Petersson's 11-under 205 (69-67-69).
