Results: Florida Relays | Colonial Relays
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Another week, another record broken.
Hampton University senior
Ce'aira Brown turned in the top individual performance of the weekend at the Florida Relays, breaking her own school record in the 800-meter run.
She turned in a 2:02.82, finishing third overall and ranking as the top college runner in the event. Her old record, 2:04.17, came last season.
Brown was also the anchor on the Lady Pirates' sprint medley team – along with sophomore
Asonya Anderson, senior
Kristian Young, and senior
Tanisha Greene – that finished second with a season-best time of 3:50.52.

Meshala Morton were 10th in the 4x200-meter relay with a 1:37.36.
On the men's side, senior
Ramoye Simon turned in the Pirates' best individual effort in Florida, thanks to the 47.08 he ran in the 400-meter run to come in 11th overall.
Simon was also on the 4x200-meter relay – along with senior
Jasper Savoy, senior
Trey Holloway, and Darius Davis – finishing 10th with a season-best 1:24.93.
Both teams also had student-athletes competing in the Colonial Relays this past weekend at the College of William & Mary; the Lady Pirates wound up tied for 29th in the team standings, while the Pirates were tied for 33rd.
Freshman
Kaitlin Scott, with a season-best mark of 1.60 meters (five feet, three inches) won the university high jump, and graduate student
Siobhan Ford-Holland was eighth in the championship long jump, turning in a season-best mark of 5.53 meters (18 feet, 1.75 inches).
The Lady Pirates came in sixth in the 4x100-meter relay, with freshmen
Tiara Robinson,
Lauren Lyons,
Kylie McMillan, and
Anaiah Brown turning in a 48.31. Robinson, Lyons, and McMillan also ran the 4x200-meter relay, along with freshman
Saenea Williams, coming in seventh after running a 1:42.62.
Sophomore
Isaac Arriola won the university long jump, turning in a season-best mark of 6.91 meters (22 feet, eight inches).
Redshirt junior
Christian Faber-Kinney was fifth in the university javelin throw, with a mark of 50.11 meters (164 feet, five inches), and he was seventh in the high jump after leaping 1.84 meters (six feet, 0.50 inches).
Senior Sulamin Fareed was eighth in the championship shot put, tossing the implement 16.05 meters (52 feet, eight inches).
