HAMPTON, Va. -- Hunter Duford scored three goals while John Daniel scored one and assisted on five for visiting VMI as they defeated Hampton 14-1 in men's lacrosse action Saturday at Armstrong Stadium.
The Keydets used the three Duford goals in the first five of the match as his hat trick goal came 51 seconds into the second period for a 5-0 VMI lead. Hampton broke the scoring column with 11:50 left in the third as
Kier Johnson scored off a feed from
Lemuel Randolph to make the score 12-1.
VMI (2-7) outshot Hampton 53-25 as Hampton (1-5) goalie
Kevin Mondy Jr. made 16 saves for the Pirates.
Hampton returns to action on April 8 at St. Thomas Aquinas in New York and will close out the season on April 15 hosting New Jersey Institute of Technology at noon.
