IN BRIEF: Mallory Hopkins scored two goals in the first 21 minutes to lead Presbyterian to a 5-1 win over Hampton in a Big South contest on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hopkins took a feed from Preston Robinette almost six minutes into the game and tallied her first goal for a 1-0 Blue Hose lead.
- She then took a long pass from Kristen Bane at the 21:16 mark and headed the ball into the net to give Presbyterian a 2-0 advantage.
- Kori Lawrence connected off a corner kick at 48:28 to push the lead to 3-0 and a stickback from Carolina Dipzinski at 53:23 put Presbyterian up 4-0.
- They closed out their scoring on a Robinette penalty kick at 67:54 to lead 5-0.
- Hampton scored its goal at 79:31 as Ayana Garvin found Lauren Frick on a pass in traffic and she pushed one into the net for the final of 5-1.
