HAMPTON, VA— Kiah Turner recorded the lone team point for Hampton on Friday as they lost 6-1 to defending Big South Conference champion Winthrop University in a match held at Neilson-Screen Stadium on Friday.
 
In doubles play, Winthrop would take lines three and two by scores of 6-0 and 6-1 to clinch the point.
 
The singles matches saw Winthrop win five of six matches. Turner took line three by scores of 6-4 and 7-5 to give the Lady Pirates their only point of the match.
 
The Lady Pirates will be home Saturday, taking on Gardener-Webb University for another Big South match-up at 11:00 am.
