NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Hampton University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Vince Brown Invitational at Christopher Newport combining for 20 top five finishes this past weekend.
On the women's side,
Mallory Pitchford finished first in triple jump at 11.2 and second in the 60 meter with 7.69.
Shakeria Johnson also placed first in the 800 at 2:23.42.
Jailyn Raines placed first as well with 1.63m in the high jump.
Other top five finishes include Dejah Grant 60m hurdles (2nd/9.13) high jump (2nd/1.63m),
Jazlyn Jefferson 400m (4th/1:00.21),
Asia Johnson 3000m (5th/11:19.14),
Dieusi Armand high jump (3rd/1.58m) long jump (3rd/5.24m) and Niyah Carpenter long jump (5th/4.99).
As for the men,
Geoffrey McCullough finished first in the 800m timed at 1:56.50.Â
Other top five finishers for the men include,
Keyonte Midgett high jump (3rd/1.93m),
Tarell Branch 60m semis (4th/7.02),
Jaelen Williams 60m hurdles semis (4th/8.26) high jump (5th/1.83m),
Jordan Walker high jump (4th/1.88m),
Ellis Woodyard pole vault (4th/4.13m),
Kievon Banks (5th/1.75).Â
They will compete in the Flame Open later this week at Liberty University.Â
