The Hampton University men's indoor track and field team competed in a pair of meets this weekend visiting Penn State for the National Open and the University of South Carolina for the Carolina Challenge.
At Penn State,
Dylan Beard came away with a second place in the 60 hurdles in 7.76, while the 4x400 relay team of
Noah Langford,
Khalil Gary,
Jeremiah Hill and
Josiah Hill were fourth in 3:16.51.
Moffat Wanjiru had a pair of top 15 finishes with an 11
th place in the 400 meters in 49.13 and a 13
th in the Invitational 200 meters in 21.94.Â
Deondre Little took 11
th in the open 200 in 22.16.
At the Carolina Challenge
Joshua Hunter took a pair of ninth place finishes in the shot put (43-7.25) and weight throw (54-10.75) to lead the Pirates.
Olakunle Akande was sixth in the 60 hurdles (8.36), while
Otis Slayton was sixth in the long jump (23-10.75) and
Keyonte Midgett was sixth in the triple jump (47-5.75).
Ellis Woodyard was eighth in the pole vault with a leap of 13-3.5.
They will compete next weekend in the Vince Brown Invite at Christopher Newport University.
