WILLIAMSBURG, Va. –
Savyon Hammond scored the opening goal and assisted on the last four for Hampton on Sunday morning as the Lady Pirates started their home schedule with a 5-0 win over South Carolina State at Wanner Stadium.
Hammond broke the single-game school record for assists that was set in 2016 by Sydney Jackson with two at Hollins. They also scored five goals twice in 2016 against Hollins and Lincoln (PA).
The four assists also is the most by a Big South player since Jordan Lundin of Radford did the feat against Longwood in the 2014 season.
