Box Score HAMPTON, VA- Hampton University Women's Soccer shut out the Royals of Regent University in a 10-0 victory Monday night.
The Pirate's defense made it hard for the Royals to get things going as the Pirates cruised to a shutout.
Hampton opened up scoring early at the 6:20 mark, as Junior
Nyle Nwainokpor scored the Pirate's first three goals of the night.
"Coach Mo reminds us every game to set the pace of play; I believe we did that as a team by scoring early in the first half and capitalizing on our opponent's weaknesses," said Nwainokpor. "I'm glad we have this win under our belts, and I hope it's the push we need to get motivated and excited for the new challenge of playing in the CAA."
The Pirates were able to end the night with a 21-1 advantage in shots.
Regent tallied a pair of saves to win the category, while the Pirates totaled seven corner kicks.
Patricia Wharton scored a goal to give the Pirates a 5-0 advantage. Hampton carried that lead into the half.
Freshman

Maya Martir scored three of the Pirate's five goals in the second half to put the nail in the coffin.
