HAMPTON MAKES LEADERSHIP CHANGE IN WOMEN'S SOCCER

HAMPTON, VA … Hampton Director of Athletics Anthony D. Henderson, Sr. has announced a leadership change in the women's soccer program. Momoh Kanneh will not have his contract renewed.

"On behalf of our entire department, I want to convey my deepest appreciation to Coach Kanneh for his passionate commitment to Hampton women's soccer," Henderson said. "We wish Momoh the very best in his future pursuits. We will begin to conduct a national search for our next head coach immediately."

Kanneh took over the Hampton program in 2019, and his team posted a 5-42-3 (.130) record in three seasons. The 2020 season was canceled due to the Covid pandemic. The 2022 team posted a 2-14-1 record.

Hampton opens the 2023 season with the annual Blue-White scrimmage set for August 14, with the start of the regular season scheduled for August 17 at Maryland-Baltimore County.
