Schedule of Events
HAMPTON, Va. (January 6th, 2024) – The Hampton Pirates Men's and Women's track and field teams are preparing to compete at the VCU Invitational in their first meet of the season. The event will take place down in Virginia Beach at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
The events start with the women's weight throw at 10:00 AM followed by the men's. The women's 60m hurdles kick off the running events at 11:00 AM. The day will be closed out by the men's 4x400m relay at 4:50 PM.
New and returning athletes will look to show off all the hard work they put in in the offseason.
Last Season
Hampton had eight athletes reach the NCAA East Region Preliminary Qualifiers last season. Those returning include six women,

Jordan Mozie (800m),Â
Kayla Spencer (400mH) and one man
Dugion Blackman (800m).
Blackman achieved a historic feat. He earned an automatic qualification into the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships by finishing second in his heat (800m) with a mark of 1:51.61. Blackman was the first Hampton student-athlete overall and first from the CAA to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 800m since 2019.
