DURHAM, N.C. (Feb. 7, 2024) The Pirates fell 4-3 to the North Carolina Central Eagles on Wednesday afternoon. Hampton traveled with five players, which led to two forfeited matches.

Donte Armbrister and Emiliano Jorquera lost to Hugo Hidalgo and Kareem Abdul Hakim 3-6, in the first doubles match. In the other match, Daniel Flynn and Aryan Arora won 7-5 over Oliver Saarinen and Leo Fortier-Gariepy. Hampton forfeited the last doubles match.

In singles, Flynn was defeated by Hidalgo 6-1, 6-4. In match number two, Jorquera lost to Abdul Hakim by a score of 6-2 in both sets. Donte Armbrister was the only Pirate to earn a point, and he beat Leo Fortier 6-4, 6-1. Aryan Arora fell against Naresh Bharathy 6-3 and 6-0. Shine Tokas was the last Pirate to compete, and he lost to Oliver Saarinen (6-2, 6-1). The last match was forfeited.
