ORLANDO, Fla. (March 12, 2024) – The Hampton Pirates lost to the Marist Red Foxes by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday afternoon at Lake Cane in Orlando, Fla. The Pirates have one more match in Orlando against Marquette before they return to Virginia.

The Pirates were unable to get the ball rolling in doubles. Two of the matches ended quickly, which led to the third going unfinished as Marist had already earned the doubles point. The same happened in singles, leaving two contests unfinished.

Emiliano Jorquera won his singles match against Jose Catala in two sets, 6-4 and 6-1. Jorquera holds the best singles record on the team at 7-3, and has won four out of his last five.
