HAMPTON, Va. (Oct. 31, 2025) … Hampton University Director of Athletics Anthony D. Henderson Sr. and Deputy Director of Athletics Derrick Price have been selected to participate in the FCS Athletic Directors Association Fellows Program.

Henderson, who is completing his third year leading the Hampton department of athletics, will serve as a mentor in the program. A former student-athlete at Hampton, Henderson earned a bachelor's degree from Hampton in marketing and a master's degree from VCU in Sports Leadership.

After working in the public sector, Handerson served as Director of Marketing and Corporate Partnerships at the MidEastern Athletic Conference, Assistant Director of Athletics at Old Dominion, Associate Director of Athletics at Akron, Senior Associate Director of Athletics and Executive Director of Athletics Advancement at William & Mary and Deputy Director of Athletics at Yale before returning to his alma mater.

He will serve as a mentor to Patty Medina of American University. Medina joined American in December 2023 and serves as the Associate Athletic Director of Student-Athlete Development and Inclusive Excellence. With 17 years of experience in higher education and athletics, she plays a pivotal role in advancing student-athlete success, driving brand strategy, and elevating fan and community engagement for AU Athletics.

Price will be mentored by Tiffany Tucker, Director of Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation at UMBC. A native of Philadelphia, Price graduated from Bluefield State with a bachelor's degree in Information Technology and a master's degree in Sports Management from West Virginia. He coached basketball at Bluefield State before being elevated to Athletics Director and then Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics. He joined the Hampton athletics staff in 2024 as Deputy Director of Athletics-Chief Operating Officer.

Tucker has worked in athletics administration at UNCW, Elizabeth City State, Hampton and South Carolina State. In addition, she coached women's basketball at Allegheny, Radford, Francis Marion and Claflin. Tucker earned a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from North Carolina and a master's degree in Sports Management from Hampton.

The program will provide a year-long opportunity to FCS and DI-AAA administrators who are ready to take the next step to assume an athletics director position. The program pairs a FCS or DI-AAA Fellow with an athletics director mentor to address potential areas that they should focus on during the 10-month process, ranging from development, leadership strategies to sport oversight, along other skill areas. In addition, the Fellows class will meet monthly via zoom to discuss hot topics and hear from veteran leaders in the industry.

"We are proud to announce the 2025–26 Fellows Class, marking the third year of the FCS ADA Fellows Program and the second for DI-AAA ADA," said FCS ADA President Kurt McGuffin, Director of Athletics at the University of Tennessee at Martin, and DI-AAA ADA President Shaney Fink, Director of Athletics at Seattle University. "These programs reflect our shared commitment to developing the next generation of leaders in intercollegiate athletics. By connecting aspiring administrators with experienced mentors, we're fostering professional growth, collaboration, and innovation across both subdivisions. We're grateful to our members and mentors for their continued support in helping us cultivate a strong pipeline of future athletic directors."
