GREENSBORO, N.C. (Oct. 4, 2025) … The Hampton University volleyball team fell in its game two of its weekend series with North Carolina A&T Saturday afternoon.
In the first set, it was the Pirates jumping out to an early 7-3 lead courtesy of a plethora of kills by Kylah McNeal and Lillian Campbell. The Aggies quickly responded with a run of its own evening the score at 13. From there, the two sides traded blows, but it was North Carolina A&T rattling off a 7-3 run to take the first set.
The Pirates jumped out to another early lead in the second set, holding an early 10-8 advantage. Racquel Frazier and Jaya Rimm paced the Pirates in the beginning of the set with numerous kills. The Aggies once more used a late 7-4 run to take the second set. North Carolina A&T used that momentum early in the third, taking a 8-4 lead. The Pirates fought back with the help of a few Aggies mishaps, and trailed 12-10 midway through. North Carolina A&T quickly regained the momentum and eventually took down Hampton in three sets.
Hampton was led by the three-headed trio of Rimm, Frazier and Katerina Pappa. Ida Wiszomirska led the Pirates for the second straight night in assists at 26, and Dila Derendeli recorded 10 digs.
