NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (Feb. 1, 2025) … The Hampton men's tennis team fell 4-3 on Saturday in a season-opening match to Christopher Newport at the James River Country Club.
Hampton (0-1) won at the top doubles spot as
Benedict Badza and
Marko Stoilkovski defeated Nesh Kumaresan and Vincent Truong 6-2. The Captains won the last two spots in doubles to take the point.
In singles, Hampton took the top two singles spots as
Donte Armbrister scored a 6-0, 6-4 win over Vincent Truong at the top.
Yanozie Amadike defeated Eddy Porsmry Hansen 6-0, 6-1 at the two spot.
Marko Stoilkovski won at the fifth spot as his opponent was forced to retire by injury.
Hampton now heads to Richmond to take on the Spiders next Saturday.
