ORLANDO, Fla. (March 13, 2025) … The Hampton tennis teams finished off their Spring Break week in Orlando on Thursday as the men split two matches defeating Vassar 4-3 and falling 4-1 to Marquette, while the women fell 4-0 to South Dakota.
 
The final match for the men saw the Pirates defeat Vassar 4-3 at the USTA National Campus. Hampton swept the doubles winning 7-6 (7-2) by Aryan Arora and Kevin Jorquera at No. 1, enedict Badza and Yanozie Amadike with a 6-1 win at No. 2 and Marko Stoilkovski with Donte Armbrister won 6-3 at No. 3
 
In singles, Armbrister took a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1, Badza won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 and Amadike clinched the win for Hampton with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2.
 
Against Marquette, Hampton swept the doubles clinching the team point with a pair of tiebreaker wins 7-6 (7-4) by Arora and Jorquera at No. 1 and 7-6 (7-1) by Badza and Amadike at No. 2. Armbrister and Stoilkovski took a 7-5 win at No. 3 as Hampton took all six doubles matches on Thursday.
 
Marquette responded in singles winning four matches to take the dual win.
 
The women's match against South Dakota saw Hampton fall in doubles losing 6-3, 6-0 and 6-3 in the three matches with South Dakota sweeping singles.
 
Both teams are now off until later in the month as the men will next see action at N.C. A&T on March 28, while the women will return at East Carolina on March 30.
