HAMPTON, Va. (April 3, 2025) … The Hampton University outdoor track and field programs will be back in action starting Friday at the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point University.
A total of 40 schools will send athletes to Vert Stadium for the two-day meet. The hammer and javelin throws will be contested on Friday, along with the high jump, long jump and pole vault in the field events. On the track, heats will take place for everything from the 100 to 1500-meter events.
Saturday will see the shot put and discus events go along with the triple jump, pole vault and high jump "A" flights. On the track, events start at 1 p.m. and ending with the 5000 meters at approximately 6 p.m.
Hampton set nine personal bests and one school record at the Raleigh Relays last weekend.
Peninah Mutisya set the 5000-meter record with a time of 15:53.09 to take 12
th place out of 225 runners.
The event will be streamed both days on ESPN+ from 1 p.m. to 4:30 pm on Friday and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. You can click links for each day at the top of this story.
