BUIES CREEK, N.C. (April 6, 2025) … The Hampton University women's tennis team dropped a hard-fought contest at Campbell on Sunday falling 4-3 to the Camels in a Coastal Athletic Association matchup.
 
The Pirates took the doubles point as all three matches were 6-1 decisions. Masa Mitic and Meiri Okuwaki won at line three and Campbell responded with a win at line two. Serena Bryan and Diana Starodubtseva clinched the team point with a win at the top.
 
Campbell jumped out in singles with wins at lines three, four and five to take a 3-1 lead. Starodubtseva won 7-5, 6-3 at the top spot to trim the deficit to 3-2 and Okuwaki gave the Pirates their final win with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory at line two.
 
Hampton (7-7, 1-1) returns home to start a six-match homestand to close the regular season beginning on Wednesday with a pair of matches. The Pirates open with a pair of matches Wednesday against Towson at 2 p.m. and Virginia State at 5 p.m.
