GREENSBORO, N.C. (May 14, 2025) … The Hampton Pirates women's outdoor track and field teams sits in second place with 29 points after day one of the 2025 CAA Championships held at North Carolina A&T.
Hampton trails Elon who amassed 44 points in day one. William & Mary is one point behind Hampton with 28, while Delaware has 27 and Monmouth has 25 to round out the top five.
Peninah Mutisya started her trek to a distance-double in the outdoor season by winning the 10,000 meters and scoring 10 points for Hampton in a school record 34:36.35. She won the 3k and 5k during the indoor championships and will go for a double on Thursday in the 5k.
Victoria Caldwell got the points started for the Pirates with a fourth place showing in the hammer throw with a toss of 53.12m (174-3) which she unleashed on her last throw to lock up fourth and five points.
Jaida Graham put up three points with a sixth place showing after a toss of 50.78m (166-7).
Hampton put up 11 points in the long jump as
Danielle James took third and
Saniyah Evans finished fourth as each jumped 5.75m (18-10.5).
Events on Thursday begin at 10 a.m. at the Marcus Johnson Track and can be streamed on FloSports.
