Hampton Student-Athletes and Administrator Participate in CAA SAAC Leadership Summit

HAMPTON, Va. (June 19, 2025) … Hampton University Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Development Kevarian Henry along with track and field student-athletes Robert Crawford and Emmani Shaw are participating in the Coastal Athletic Association Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) Leadership Summit in Richmond from Thursday through Saturday.

The meeting includes 27 student-athletes representing all 13 CAA institutions along with an administrator from each school and members of the conference staff.

Summit participants will have the opportunity to share ideas and concerns related to their student-athlete experience and provide input on a variety of conference and national issues. Making presentations will be Will Baggett, a nationally acclaimed keynote speaker and former operations manager for the College Football Playoff, and Dr. Morgan Russell-Stokes, the Dean for Student Equity & Inclusion at the University of Richmond.

On Friday, the CAA student-athletes will volunteer at a sports and STEM camp for children at a local YMCA. They will also film a public service announcement that will air on telecasts of CAA sporting events during the 2025-26 season.

CAA Commissioner Joe D'Antonio will address the group as part of their business session on Saturday morning.
