RICHMOND, Va. (Jan. 27, 2026) … Hampton University sophomore Marquis White was named on Tuesday as the CAA Men's Indoor Track and Field Field Athlete of the Week in the weekly awards announced by the league office.

White, a native of Lynchburg, Va., took top honors at the Liberty Open on Friday with a season best leap of 7.30m (23-11.5) to win the long jump by almost nine inches. His mark is currently the top indoor mark in the CAA and only .02 off his personal best set last spring at the Vertklasse Meeting of 7.32m (24-0.25).

The Pirates are off now until February 6-7 for the Penn Classic in Philadelphia.
