Hampton Falls To Nationally-Ranked Virginia In Tuesday Softball Clash

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (March 10, 2026) … The 14th-ranked Virginia Cavaliers scored 10 runs in the first inning and rode that to a 10-0 win over the Hampton Pirates in a non-conference softball matchup on Tuesday at Palmer Park.

Hampton (5-14) had two hits in the game with Carmynn Bonner leading the game off with a double and Violet Salazar with a single in the third inning. The Pirates did have two reach base on walks in Santrea Armstead and Jayleen Reeves

Kassidy Hudson was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and drove in two runs to lead Virginia (23-2), while Macee Eaton was 2-for-2 with two runs and three RBIs.

The Pirates are on the road this weekend at Stony Brook for a three-game CAA series starting on Friday at 2 p.m.
