HAMPTON, Va. (March 20, 2026) … A total of 26 Hampton University student-athletes were honored with induction into Chi Alpha Sigma, one of the highest academic honors a student-athletes can achieve, in ceremonies on March 16, 2025.
To qualify for membership in Chi Alpha Sigma, junior or senior student-athletes must have completed five terms and maintain a 3.4 minimum cumulative grade point average. Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes student-athletes academic excellence and is the equivalent of the National Honor Society for student-athletes.
Following the oath during the ceremonies, inductees received honor cords, Chi Alpha Sigma pins plus a certificate of membership. They were honored and recognized for their academic and athletics achievements. The national distinction provides a platform that publicly acknowledges and celebrates the successes of student-athletes.
Chi Alpha Sigma was established to recognize four-year college student-athletes who excel both on-and-off the field of competition. Founded in 1996 by then DePauw University head football coach, Nick Mourouzis, Chi Alpha Sigma continues to provide outstanding student-athletes with an opportunity to become connected within a fraternal association that aligns their educational and athletic successes for a lifetime.
