HAMPTON, Va. (Apr. 11, 2026) … The Hampton University men's lacrosse team dropped a CAA game Saturday afternoon against No. 16 Towson 21-5.
The Tigers struck first Saturday, rattling off an early 4-0 run through the first four minutes of game action, but it was Maliik Wood halting that Tiger run when he scored his 22nd goal of the season with 7:49 remaining in the first frame. Towson then responded with 10 unanswered goals over the course of the first and second quarter to take a commanding 13-1 lead.
Nikki Rattan deposited his second goal of the season on a breakaway with 7:40 remaining in the second quarter to halt the Tigers run, but it was Towson holding a 16-2 lead at the break.
Hampton continued to fight in the second half, outscoring Towson 3-1 in the third quarter. The scoring started with Wood's second goal of the game just four minutes into the third, before Jadon Meyers and Owen Parham each scored in the period.
Payton Riddle recorded his first two assists of his career in the game, which was also a team high. Wood's 23 goals now moves him into a tie for third most goals in a season by a Pirate.

Hampton will travel to Hofstra Saturday, April. 18 next weekend before returning home to host Stony Brook for the season finale. Saturday's game is slated to start at 1:00 p.m.
