2005 • JUNIOR SEASON
Started all 12 games at middle linebacker… finished third in the voting for the Buck Buchanan Award which recognizes the top defensive player in I-AA… named Sheridan Broadcasting Network (SBN) and MEAC Defensive Player of the Year… SBN All-American… Walter Camp All-American… Sports Network All-American… Associated Press All-American… Second Team Don Hansen Football Gazette All-American… First Team VaSID All-State Team… led the MEAC with 124 total tackles, including 61 solo stops… was third in the conference with 15 tackles for loss… tied for the team lead with five quarterback sacks… also added two fumble recoveries, one interception and two pass breakups… matched his career-high with 15 tackles (8 solo) in Hampton’s win over #19 South Carolina State… that effort was just one of his seven games with at least 10 tackles… recorded a game-high 14 stops against Richmond in the I-AA playoffs… named Defensive MVP of the Detroit Football Classic and the New York Urban League Classic where he finished the game with 11 tackles 2.5 tackles for loss and half a sack… returned his only interception for 17 yards against South Carolina State to halt a potential go-ahead drive by the Bulldogs… two-time MEAC Defensive Player of the Week… posted eight solo tackles in games against Howard, Morgan State and South Carolina State… had at least one tackle for loss in nine of the 12 games.

2004 • SOPHOMORE SEASON
Saw action in 11 of the Pirates’ 12 games on the year, including hitting the starting lineup in all 11 of those contests … Earned Defensive Player of the Year honors in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) … Named to the Don Hansen Gazette All-Eastern Region Team … Named as a Sheridan Broadcasting Network (SBN) All-America performer … Finished second on the squad in tackles for the season with 99 total, as well as fifth overall in the conference … Led the Pirates’ defensive unit in tackles for loss (14.5), good enough for second in the conference … Finished the season third on the squad in sacks with five total … Registered three interceptions on the campaign which was good enough to finish the season tied for ninth in the MEAC in that category … Ended the season fourth on the team in pass breakups with eight … Scored twice on the year with interceptions returned for touchdowns against Morgan State in the New York Urban League Classic and at South Carolina State … Posted a career-high 15 tackles (eight solo) against Western Illinois … Also collected a career-high four pass deflections in that same contest, with 1.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage as well … Tallied 13 tackles apiece in two games this season against Morgan State and Norfolk State … Posted three tackles behind the line of scrimmage against Norfolk State, including two quarterback sacks and two pass breakups … Went on to collect double-digit tackles against Gardner-Webb and Howard as well … At the linebacker position, Durant posted two interceptions against Morgan State in the New York Urban League Classic.

2003 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Played in the first four games of the season before missing the next three contests due to injury … Returned to the lineup in a home contest against Florida A&M … Saw action at the outside linebacker position, as well as the special team unit … Led all Pirate freshman with 32 total tackles, including 14 by solo performance … Turned in his best outing of the season against Morgan State in the New York Urban League Classic where he registered seven tackles, one quarterback sack and a pass breakup in an HU victory … Recorded 2.5 tackles for loss at Howard … Opened his collegiate career with six tackles (four solo) at Villanova in the HU season-opener … Also posted a tackle for loss against Savannah State.

WILSON BAY HIGH SCHOOL
Four-year letterman under head coach Darryl Page … A member of the 2002 HSSR All-State Team … Twice named to the WBTW TV-13 All-Area Team, as well as Region 6 3-A (AAA) All-Region Team … Started in the annual North Carolina vs. South Carolina Shrine Bowl … Recorded seven tackles, including two tackles for loss, in that same contest … Member of the National Honor Society at Wilson High School.
