2006 • JUNIOR SEASON
Second Team All-MEAC… started all 11 games in which he appeared for the Pirates… saw time at defensive end and defensive tackle… totaled 25 total tackles, including 10 solo stops to rank third among defensive linemen… added 5.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage for a loss of 24 yards… his four sacks were the third most on the squad, helping the Pirates lead the league in that category… had one of his best games in the NCAA playoffs with six tackles (4 solo) against New Hampshire, tying his career-high with two sacks… recorded five tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery that led to a touchdown in Hampton’s 29-14 win at Delaware State… also had a sack in the season opener versus Grambling State and against North Carolina A&T.
2005 • SOPHOMORE SEASON
Saw action in 10 games, starting nine at defensive tackle… was third on the team in tackles among defensive linemen with 33 thanks to 13 solo tackles and 20 assists… seven of his 33 tackles were for a loss, including 2.5 sacks… had his best effort of the season against Morgan State in the New York Urban League Classic… in that game Marcus recorded a career-high seven tackles (4 solo), 1.5 tackles for loss, a half sack and two forced fumble… his two forced fumbles led to a touchdown and a field goal for Hampton… also recorded sacks against Norfolk State and Bethune-Cookman… registered at least five tackles in four different games, including six stops (4 solo) and 1.5 tackles for loss against Richmond in the first round of the NCAA playoffs… hauled in his first career interception in the Battle of the Bay at Norfolk State.
2004 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Played all 12 games on the year, including starting six of the last seven games of the season … Finished the year seventh on the team in total tackles (38) … Placed fifth on the squad in tackles for loss with nine stops behind the line of scrimmage … Finished the year with three quarterbacks sacks which was good enough to end the year fifth on the team in that category … Established himself as one of the most explosive guys off the line on a defensive line loaded with talent … Undoubtedly, Marcus registered his best outing of the season against South Carolina State … In that game, he recorded five tackles (two solo), including four stops behind the line of scrimmage for a loss of 17 yards, a forced fumble and one pass deflection … Of those four tackles for loss, two came via quarterback sacks … Also collected five tackles in games against Western Illinois, Gardner-Webb and North Carolina A&T … Tallied three assisted tackles, including two solo stops, as well as two quarterback hurries and a tackle for loss against North Carolina A&T … Pulled in three solo tackles against William & Mary in the NCAA playoffs.

Lettered in football, basketball, baseball and track… as a sophomore was named a Gridiron Great Rising Star in football and received All-Area honorable mention honors on the basketball court… recorded 98 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, three sacks and seven pass breakups as a junior defensive end, earning him First Team All-Area honors… was a Second Team All-Area selection and the Wrong News Tribune Tipoff Club Player of the Year in basketball… ranked among the top three defense ends in his district by Blue Chip Recruiting… placed third in the region in the shot put and the discus… recognized by Who’s Whom Among American High School Students… graduated with a 3.96 GPA… member of the National Honor Society.
