Hampton University Athletics

Michael Villagrana is entering his second year with the Hampton University football program, and his first as tight ends coach and assistant offensive line coach, where he will be in charge of the development of the tight ends and offensive line, as well as the defensive scout team.

A five-year player on the West Virginia University football team, Villagrana won the Gridiron Award in 2008 while earning a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and sciences. Villagrana then spent a year as a graduate assistant with the Mountaineers, while pursuing a Masters in athletic coaching education.

Villagrana was an offensive graduate assistant for the Pirates in 2009.

Villagrana is a native of Youngstown, Ohio.
