PIRATES TRACK & FIELD
Won three MEAC track & field titles… won the MEAC indoor title in the 60-meter dash in the 2008-09 season with a MEAC-record 6.71… ran a 20.71 to win the MEAC outdoor title in 2009… helped the 4x100-meter relay team with the MEAC outdoor title in 2010 with a MEAC-record 39.71… finished eighth in the 100-meter dash at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2009, running a 10.38… competed in the 2010 NCAA Outdoor East Regional, competing in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay.
2008 R-FRESHMAN SEASON
Played in eight games for the Pirates… returned 10 kicks for 204 yards, averaging 20.4 per return… ran three times on the season for 55 yards… averaged 18.3 yards per rush… recorded one tackle on the season.
2007 FRESHMAN SEASON
Redshirted for the Pirates.
PLAINFIELD HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated in three years… starred on both the football and track & field teams all three years at Plainfield… recorded 240 receiving yards and four touchdowns as a freshman… had 14 touchdowns his sophomore year, rushing for 876 yards and pulling in 414 yards from the air… second team All-State as a sophomore… caught for 574 yards and 12 touchdowns in his senior season… named All-State first team in both football and track as a senior… as a freshman earned first team All-State track honors in the 55-meter dash.
PERSONAL
Born June 7, 1988… son of Sharon Dixon and Craig Venson… the oldest of five children… hopes to be a kick returner in the NFL after going the first round of the draft.
