2011 FRESHMAN SEASON
Was behind center for four games for the Pirates, starting at Savannah State on Oct. 29 and against Howard on Nov. 5… completed 70.4 percent of his passes (25-for-51) on the season… threw for 494 yards and four touchdowns… completed all five of his passes against North Carolina Central on Oct. 22 for 47 yards… threw for a career-high 197 yards (21-for-32) at Savannah State, including his first career touchdown… threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns against Morgan State on Nov. 19.

RANCHO VERDE HIGH SCHOOL
Played football all four years… threw for 2,200 yards and 22 touchdowns as a sophomore… won the NCLS Leadership Award as a junior after throwing for 2,800 yards and 30 touchdowns… threw for 2,400 yards and 28 touchdowns as a senior, earning All-League Offensive MVP honors… was also named All-CIF Player of the Year and an NFF Scholar Athlete… played baseball as a junior… was on the golf team as a senior.

Born Oct. 30, 1992… son of Stacey and Maurice Champion… has one brother, Matthew (7), and one sister, Makayla (2)… was featured in the Press Enterprise… majoring in criminal justice… wants to attend law school.
