Jalen Sanders starts his second season as the graduate assistant for the Hampton University men's basketball team after finishing his degree from Appalachian State in Finance.
A two-year member of the basketball program, Sanders saw action in seven games in 2014-15 hitting his first career 3-pointer against Georgia Southern. After finishing his playing career he had a couple international internships with Usak Basketball in Turkey and BCM Gravelines in France.
In high school, he was a three-time all-conference selection and earned all-Lake honors as a junior and senior. He was named the 2013-14 “Best Player You’ve Never Heard Of” by the Charlotte Observer and earned basketball MVP and Student-Athlete of the Year at South Lake Christian.
Sanders finished working on his Master’s in Sports Management in the summer of 2019. He is the god brother to NBA all-star Stephen Curry and former Florida State guard Ian Miller.
