Eduardo Barria enters his first season with the Lady Pirates as the Goalkeeper Coach. The Los Pozos, Panama native, began his soccer career at the age of 17 as a goalkeeper. Three years after beginning his career, Barria signed his first professional contract with Herrera FC in the first division of Panama.
Barria since 2020 has been playing semi-professional soccer in the United States having experience in the NPSL and UPSL. He is currently playing in the USL League Two (USL2) for Virginia Beach United. United had one of their best seasons since the club's inception making the USL2 but fell in the round of 32.
While Barria is new to the coaching scene, he prioritizes the growth of the student-athlete. He has connections in the Hampton Roads area working with different institutions such as MKGK Academy. Over the years the academy has coached and mentored goalkeepers helping them play across Division I, Division II, Division III, and NAIA.
