SPOKANE, Wash. – Former Hampton University wide receiver Justin Brown was signed on Tuesday by the Spokane Shock of the Arena Football One league.

Brown (Dover, N.J.) led the MEAC in receiving yards per game in 2008, averaging 80.6 yards per contest. He caught 56 passes for 887 yards that season, catching nine touchdown passes and averaging 15.8 yards per reception. His efforts as a senior earned Brown a First Team All-MEAC selection.

In two seasons with the Pirates – after transferring from Lakawanna Junior College – Brown had 86 receptions for 1,370 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The Shock will open the 2010 season on April 2, when they play host to the Milwaukee Iron.
