LEGREE, CHISHOLM EARN MEAC WEEKLY HONORS

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced on Monday that Hampton University redshirt-junior quarterback David Legree and freshman running back Antwon Chisholm were named Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

Legree (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week along with Norfolk State running back DeAngelo Branche after going 17-for-25 in the air on Saturday in a 35-21 win over North Carolina A&T. Legree passed for a career-best 206 yards and four touchdowns. He also carried the ball eight times for 36 yards in leading the Pirates to 518 yards of total offense.

Chisholm (Belle Glade, Fla.) had 11 carries for 114 yards, including a 72-yard touchdown run. He also caught two passes for 13 yards to finish the game on Saturday with 127 offensive yards.

Florida A&M's Qier Hall was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, while his teammate Christopher Sands earned Offensive Lineman of the Week honors. Justin Farrell of North Carolina A&T was named MEAC Special Teams Player of the Week.

The Pirates (2-1, 2-0 MEAC) will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 30, when they travel to Dover, Del. to take on Delaware State at 7:30 p.m. in a contest televised on ESPNU.
