CAPE COD, Mass. – Hampton University senior linebacker Brandon Peaguese was named a Football Championship Subdivision All-Star on Defense by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), the league announced on Friday.
Peguese (Greensboro, N.C.), a member of the Black College Football Defensive Team, First Team Sports Network FCS All-American and First Team All-MEAC selection, was third on the team with 85 tackles (38 solo, 47 assisted) on the season, and he finished third in the MEAC with 8.0 sacks.
He also ranked second in the conference in tackles for loss with 23.5 for a total of 94 yards.
Quarterback Pat Devlin of Delaware was named ECAC Offensive Player of the Year, while linebacker Tyler Holmes of Massachusetts was named Defensive Player of the Year. Delaware running back Andrew Pierce was named ECAC Rookie of the Year.
