NORFOLK, Va. – Hampton University sophomore offensive lineman
Vincent Harper was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Lineman of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Harper (Belle Glade, Fla.) graded out at 96 percent on his assignments in Saturday's 30-27 overtime win over North Carolina Central – which marked the first time the Pirates (4-3, 2-2 MEAC) had won their Homecoming game since 2006.
He anchored the Pirates offensive line that helped the team rack up 450 yards of total offense – 105 of which came on the ground. Harper recorded four pancake blocks against the Eagles.
Bethune-Cookman's Isidore Jackson was named MEAC Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Ryan Davis earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Damien Flemming of Florida A&M and Howard's Greg McGhee shared MEAC Rookie of the Week honors, while Norfolk State's Everett Goldberg was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
