TAMPA, Fla. – Hampton University senior defensive back
Micah Pellerin has been invited to play in the 2012 East-West Shrine Game.
Pellerin (New Orleans, La.) was a First Team All-MEAC selection this past season, after tying for seventh on the team in tackles with 51 – including 29 solo stops. He also broke up a MEAC-best 15 passes this past season, while also picking off four passes, which was tied for second-most in the conference.
His season high of 10 tackles, including six solo stops, came against Princeton on Oct. 8.
Pellerin returned an interception 42 yards in the season finale against Morgan State on Nov. 19, while also returning a pick 16 yards at Norfolk State on Oct. 15.
He also recovered a fumble against Howard on Nov. 5.
The game will be played Jan. 21 at 4 p.m. at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. It will be televised on NFL Network.
