NORFOLK, Va. – Hampton University junior guard/forward
Du'Vaughn Maxwell was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Maxwell (Manhattan, N.Y.) recorded back-to-back double-doubles last week, including a 15-point, 11-rebound performance on Monday against Coppin State – those 11 rebounds signaling a career high. He added 12 points and 10 rebounds on Saturday at Norfolk State.
He also had four total blocks last week – two in each game.
Jamie Adams of Florida A&M was named MEAC Player of the Week, while Patrick Cole of Coppin State earned MEAC Rookie of the Week honors.
