MEN’S BASKETBALL RELEASES 2013-14 SCHEDULE

HAMPTON, Va. –
The Hampton University men's basketball program has released its 2013-14 schedule, a slate that includes 12 home games, an in-season tournament, and the annual Governor's Classic in Richmond, Va.
 
The Pirates will open the season on Nov. 8 against William & Mary at the HU Convocation Center, before heading to Jersey City, N.J. to take on Saint Peter's on Nov. 12. Hampton will return home on Nov. 17 to take on Delaware, before taking on Quinnipiac in Hamden, Conn. on Nov. 20.
 
From there, the Pirates will compete in the Corpus Christi Challenge, starting on Nov. 24 with a game at Missouri State and a game at Virginia on Nov. 26. Hampton will then head to Corpus Christi, Texas on Nov. 29-30, along with Liberty, Sam Houston State and Arkansas Pine Bluff.
 
Hampton will return home on Dec. 7 and Dec. 9 for conference games against Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman, before hitting the road on Dec. 19 to take on Northern Kentucky in Highland Heights, Ky.
 
The 2013 Governor's Classic will be held at the Richmond Coliseum on Dec. 21, with the Pirates taking on James Madison at 3 p.m. Hampton will be the designated home team, due to the results of a coin toss back in August.
 
After the holiday, the Pirates will hold two home games against Winthrop (Dec. 29) and Radford (Jan. 4), before hitting the road on Jan. 7 to take on North Carolina Central in a non-conference contest.
 
The bulk of conference play will begin for the Pirates on Jan. 11, when they head to Dover, Del. to take on Delaware State, then Hampton will return home to take on Coppin State (Jan. 18) and Morgan State (Jan. 20).
 
Four straight road games will follow, starting with a game at Savannah State on Jan. 25. Hampton will then take on South Carolina State on Jan. 27, before playing at Coppin State on Feb. 1 and at Morgan State on Feb. 3.
 
Hampton will return home on Feb. 8 to take on Howard, before squaring off against Maryland Eastern Shore on Feb. 10. The Pirates will then cross the James River Bridge to take on Norfolk State on Feb. 15 to kick off a three-game road trip.
 
Hampton will be at Howard on Feb. 22, before playing the last road game of the season at UMES on Feb. 24.
 
The Pirates will end the regular season with a pair of road games, taking on rival Norfolk State on March 1, before playing North Carolina A&T on March 6.
 
The 2014 MEAC Tournament will be held March 10-15 at Norfolk Scope.
